School Custodian A Finalist For 'Hardest Working in America'
According to nj.com, North Bergen, N.J., school custodian has been named one of the hardest working people in America.
Thomas Beaumont, 64, a longtime North Bergen resident, is a custodian at Robert Fulton School, where he mops, scrubs, buffs and waxes desks, floors and other surfaces at the Hudson Avenue building, which has more than 40 classrooms.
"I want him to be acknowledged," his wife Cynthia said. "Nobody looks up to a custodian, but if it weren't for him, the school would be a mess."
And that's why she created a video of all the hard work her husband does and entered it in Mitchum Deodorant's "Hardest Working Person in America" contest.
The Beaumonts received word last month that Thomas beat out 165 other contestants and was named one of 10 finalists.
If he gets the most votes, he has a chance to win a $100,000 cash prize. The grand prize winner would also be the subject of a short film by legendary documentarian Albert Maysles and co-filmmaker Bradley Kaplan.
Voting closes this Sunday. Cast your vote here.
