According to reports from ISSA, the latest version of Green Seal's draft Cleaning Services Standard has been opened for public review. After Green Seal announced in mid-June that the first round of balloting did not result in a consensus, it was decided that the standard would be revised in an effort to receive greater consensus.

One of the largest changes was an alternative approach to the Environmentally Preferable Purchasing guidelines and the definition of environmentally preferable cleaning products. The new definition includes products certified by Green Seal and Environmental Choice, as well as products recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Design for the Environment Formulator Initiative. This change will allow for more products to qualify as "green."
