According to an Associated Press article on Forbes.com, "both Democrats and Republicans insist they emerged as winners from last week's failed GOP effort to cut taxes on multimillion dollar estates and raise the minimum wage."

Although politicians comment that everyone won, there are over 5 million hotel maids, dishwashers, janitorial and fast food workers who might disagree. These, and other minimum wage workers, are stuck at a salary $5.15 an hour, a minimum wage that is the lowest it's been in 50 years.

While politicians from both sides debate over who is to blame for the bill not passing, some feel that pairing a minimum wage hike with tax cuts for millionaires was just too high of a risk.
