According to a survey conducted by The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) of its worldwide membership, 35 percent have not done any planning for a Pandemic flu such as the bird flu. Seven percent of members surveyed had plans completed and implemented, 39 percent were in the process of creating or updating a plan, and 20 percent reported that the issue is adequately addressed in existing business continuity plans with no further action required. Forty-nine percent of IFMA members surveyed said that their organizations’ senior management consider a pandemic flu outbreak a serious or a probable threat to their business.
