Housekeeping Staff Gives to Homeless
The Education & Assistance Corporation's (EAC) Employment Readiness Program has been the recipient of much-needed toiletry products, gathered by the housekeeping staff of the Hyatt Regency Long Island Hotel at Wind Watch Golf Club in Hauppauge, New York.
Organized by Debbie Kaplan, Director of Human Resources, the housekeeping staff at the perfectly positioned Long Island hotel collected items that would normally be discarded and donated them to individuals who live in Nassau County shelters. EAC's Employment Readiness Program works with the homeless to develop the tools needed to secure gainful employment by providing employment assessments, job readiness training, job placement referrals and case management.
"Our clients are very appreciative of these donations and have often indicated that they really need toiletries," stated Program Director, Alyssa Sanchez. "We are grateful to the wonderful people at the Hyatt for caring about their neighbors in Nassau County."
