Education Sessions/Speakers Draw Attendees to Free Virtual Conference
The CleaningGreen Virtual Conference & Expo is an
industry first and is already generating a lot of interest. On May 11, the
free, live online event will provide in-house service providers, facility
executives, jan/san distributors and building service contractors access to
industry experts and suppliers that focus on green cleaning in the commercial
cleaning market — without having to leave their office.
In addition to the expansive virtual trade show floor and exhibitor booths, the five free educational sessions and featured speakers are creating quite the buzz.
Starting at 11:00 EST, David Holly, author of Green Cleaning for Dummies, will address updates that have emerged regarding green cleaning legislation. In this session, you will learn which states currently have legislation in place, why and in what type of facilities. Holly will also address which states are proposing green legislation and how various members of the industry can get involved in legislative proposals.
At 12:30 EST, Phillip Consolino, president of SouthEast LINK, will provide an in-depth session featuring a case study of how a distributor and in-house customer partnered to initiate a green cleaning program. Consolino will also identify the process of switching to environmentally friendly products and practices and discuss the value of the distributor/end user relationship while working towards sustainable goals.
Beginning at 2:00 EST, Ian Greig, CEO of Daniels Associates, and Leon Old, superintendent of custodial services for the City of Virginia Beach, will hold a panel discussion that addresses how day cleaning fits into a green cleaning program. Together, they will identify the difference between day/night cleaning and the benefits to the facility’s bottom line. They will also discuss what makes day cleaning “green” (i.e. energy and water savings) and they’ll outline a successful approach to developing a day cleaning program.
The fourth presentation at 3:30 EST will feature Steve Ashkin, CEO of Sustainability Dashboard Tools, LLC and founder of The Ashkin Group. In this session, Ashkin will cover the specifics of new certifications for jan/san products. This will include IBEL, HPCP and EPA’s requirements for green disinfectants.
To close out the day, Ashkin will again be presenting “Sustainability: The Next Step In Green” at 5:00 EST. Attendees in this session will learn the definition of sustainability – what it is and how it is different from green cleaning. Ashkin will also identify what it means for a product to be sustainable and why cleaners should care. Finally, he’llreview how a cleaning department/facility can become more sustainable.
In addition to the education sessions, attendees to the show can visit the Networking Lounge for scheduled/live chats. Topics and times (EST) include:
• 9:30 — Building Blocks: How did you jumpstart your green program and what's your next step?
• 11:00 — Green Cleaning for Health: How are you proving green cleaning protects building occupants?
• 12:30 — Product Certifications: What's the demand for third-party certified products?
• 2:00 — LEED Buildings: Should cleaning play a larger role?
• 3:30 — Do you Day Clean: Share your tips for successful implementation
