Delta Facilities Maintenance (DFM), a janitorial, maintenance and carpet-cleaning company, found itself in the running for the Calgary Chamber of Commerce's 2006 Small Business of the Year Award. According to the Business Edge, Ontario, Canada, winners of the awards will be announced as part of the chamber’s Small Business Week Expo that runs from October 17-19.

The fact that companies such as DFM made this year's shortlist for Calgary serves as an interesting reminder that opportunities are out there if you have the hard work and innovation to make it count.
