The Building Service Contractors Association, International (BSCAI) trade association for the building service industry, recently announced its sponsorship of the Green Seal cleaning Service Standard and plans to participate as an active stakeholder, said Carol A. Dean, executive vice president of the association.

"BSCAI is pleased to sponsor this important initiative, and will participate formally and constructively in the development of the standard through a representative BSCAI task force," said Carol A. Dean.

"We are grateful for the BSCAI’s sponsorship of this vital standard and eagerly look forward to the input of the BSCAI and other stakeholders during key phases of the development of the standard," said Arthur B. Weissman, Ph.D., President and CEO of Green Seal.

"The development of a Green Cleaning Services Standard poses a substantial challenge, both in terms of technical content and in terms of its eventual implementation. The active participation of stakeholders such as BSCAI will be vital to the development of a quality leadership standard, both as a source of technical knowledge to the development team on crucial green cleaning issues, and as an experienced panel providing critical review of the draft and final standard," he added.
