The American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services
(ASHES) announced that Rose Hamann, CHESP, director of environmental services and security at
Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill., will serve as the Society’s 2007 president. Elected by ASHES’ board of
directors, her one-year term will begin January 1, 2007. Hamann previously served as vice president of
ASHES and was a member of the ASHES board for the past two years.
Other highlights of the conference demonstrate that the word “eXtreme” is no longer reserved for just thrilling
sporting events. This conference was not just another conference. Showcased by ASHES President Brett
Higgins kicking off the opening session by riding in on a Harley, the record-setting exhibit hall filled with new
technologies and solution sets, hard hitting learning labs and social and networking activities.
