Sanitaire Names David Parkes General Manager

David Parkes, an industry field and sales management veteran, has been named General Manager of Electrolux Commercial Division, a new position.

Parkes has held a number of district and national sales and management positions at Electrolux Home Care Products since he joined the company in 1989.  He has served on numerous product development teams and has worked with a many national trade partners during his 20-year tenure at the company.

Parkes appointment consolidates key functions within Sanitaire, including product development, sales and marketing.  The move provides further support for the newly expanded sales team and sales management infrastructure at the company, and will strengthen the focus on the Sanitaire brand.

“We have now created the internal support so we can more effectively drive the agenda for the commercial brands going forward,” Parkes said.  “My additional responsibilities represent another step in increasing the focus on the commercial brand.”

Parkes anticipates the new structure will deliver a number of benefits to the end user and the distribution partners the commercial division serves.  Important initiatives include on-going training, developing robust communications and providing better support for product sell-through.

“The difficult economic environment we have been dealing with has presented some challenges for all of us,” Parkes said.  “But a tough economy also presents the opportunity to reinvent ourselves and how we do business.

“We are committed to bringing innovative products and unmatched service to our distributors and to our end users, and believe this is the way to succeed in the months and years ahead,” he said.
