Rochester Midland Acquires WellBeing Hygiene
Effective March 1, 2017 Rochester Midland Corporation has agreed to acquire WellBeing Hygiene, Inc. in an asset purchase. Transferring to RMC will be the customers, employees, intellectual property and other assets relating to the business of WellBeing.
Rochester Midland Corporation is a 128 year old, family owned business operating in the restroom hygiene, food and beverage hygiene, water treatment, commercial cleaning and housekeeping, and disaster restoration markets. RMC is a market leader in sustainable products, services and technologies in its chosen business lines.
WellBeing Hygiene, Inc., was founded in 1997 by Douglas Manning as a full service provider of restroom hygiene technologies and related services and products. The company assists organizations in safeguarding their facilities and decreasing the risk of infection through a clean, healthy, touch free environment that encourages appropriate hygiene initiatives and wellness.
Brad Calkins, co-CEO of RMC says that, “We at RMC are excited to welcome WellBeing’s employees and customers into the RMC family. Having been one of the pioneers of restroom services back in 1888, we appreciate the accomplishments and innovations WellBeing has brought to the market, and we feel the combination of the two businesses will form a stronger, customer focused organization that can create more value than ever before. We’ll be able to cover a broader geography while introducing the WellBeing service model to our existing customers, and offer RMC’s broad array of products and services to the established WellBeing clients.
Doug Manning, founder of WellBeing commented, “Businessmen, like their products, have a sell by date. And I realized that mine was a little past due. After twenty years of building a brand and innovating in hygiene, it was time to pass the business on to a new person. In Rochester Midland I feel that the strong ethics of a great family business, which has survived a very long time in all kinds of economies and challenges, is exactly the right Steward to take over and build the concept I started. My employees, my suppliers, my customers, and the Communities that WellBeing lives and serves in, I know will be well served.”
