Green is not just limited to products and customers. Distributors and building service contractors can “practice what they preach” and put green to work in their own companies. As a start, use green cleaning products when cleaning your own facility. Other sustainable initiatives include setting up a recycling program, using fluorescent lights and daylighting and creating a paperless office. Switch company cars and trucks to hybrid versions and provide incentives for employees who bike, carpool or take public transportation to work. Finally, get your own facility LEED-certified. By implementing these sustainable initiatives, customers will appreciate that you fully subscribe to the green movement and your example will also demonstrate expertise on the subject.
