Microfiber Mops: Sustainable Floorcare

There’s a lot of confusion about what Green, more sustainable floorcare really is. Typically it involves using environmentally preferable floorcare chemicals, cleaners, and polishes.

But according to Oswald Garces, President of Clean-Tech Services, LLC, “It also means using less water and less chemical.”
 
To implement a more sustainable floorcare program, Garces has switched to Pro-Link’s new Advanced Microfiber System (AMS), a polyester microfiber flat mop system.
 
AMS uses considerably less water than a conventional loop mop system. In fact, studies by the Environmental Protection Agency report that mopping with a microfiber system uses as much as 21 times less water than using a loop mop.

“And this means less chemical is used as well,” adds Garces, “which helps protect the environment.”
 
Garces says there is another benefit as well.

“Floors dry faster, so there is less chance of a slip or fall.”
